Israel says Iran will have nuclear bomb know-how soon
13 May 2005 10:50:13 GMT
Source: Reuters

JERUSALEM, May 13 (Reuters) - Iran will have the technological know-how within six to nine months to build a nuclear bomb, Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said on Friday.

"They (the Iranians) have one aim -- to achieve the capability to produce a nuclear bomb," Shalom told Israel Radio.

"The important question is not whether they will have a bomb in 2009, 2010 or 2011, but when they will have the know-how to produce a bomb. According to our estimates, we are talking about six to nine months," he said. (...)

Shalom made the comments after France, Britain and Germany warned Iran they would break off talks and join Washington in seeking U.N. Security Council action if Tehran made good on its threats to resume atomic work.

3. Israeli preemptive strike imminent...
the U.S. set the rules of engagement, Israel has no qualms about attacking Iran. This will be bush's chance to get in on the fun of blowing another country to smithereens. Oh joy, oh joy! Billions more for Halliburton to steal and then get BONUSES for doing it!

4. And attacking them with eliminate the know-how?
Or will it only serve to increase the speed at which they want a nuclear bomb?

6. I noticed that too. Maybe they are speaking about "know how" because
they want to prepare the ground for a broader invasion and "regime change" in Tehran?

8. And the regime change is going to be soon
June 17, 2005 is the date for the Iran elections. If a hardliner wins then there's probably going to be an attack. And the chances of a hardliner winning is pretty big.

7. I would imagine lots of countries have the "know-how" to produce....
...a nuclear weapon, but have yet to do so. Are we going to attack those countries, too?

10. End of June/Beginning of July
Elections are scheduled for June 17, but they probably need a second round which will be at June 24. Then it'll take a couple of days to count the votes. If the outcome is not what they want then they'll attack. The nominations will be announced on May 19. So in a couple of days we'll know how is running.

11. Doesn't Everybody?
It isn't that difficult, unfortunately.
Didn't a high school student come up with a workable design a few years back?

The important question is not whether they will have a bomb in 2009, 2010 or 2011

It does seem like a tacit admission that Iran is no nuclear threat today.
Israel is, which could be why Iran is interested in nukes in the first place.

12. How would Israel eliminate 'know how'?
Wait, I think I know how.
