Blast halts Iraq oil exports to Turkey
13 May 2005 09:34:47 GMT
Source: Reuters

BAGHDAD, May 13 (Reuters) - Iraq halted efforts to resume sustained crude oil exports through Turkey on Friday after a sabotage bomb hit the main pumping station that feeds its northern pipeline, an Iraqi oil official said.

The blast at the Athana crude gathering and pumping station came as Iraq was reviving crude flows to storage tanks at Turkey's Ceyhan port, the official said.

Just hours before the blast, shipping sources said Iraq had resumed pumping crude to Turkey and was exporting almost half a million barrels per day (bpd) on that route. (...)

The oil official said another sabotage blast had hit a domestic pipeline from the oil centre of Kirkuk that feeds refineries.

3. Blast halts Iraq oil exports to Turkey (Friday)

The Iraqi oil official gave a more conservative figure, saying an average 100,000 bpd had been moving through the pipeline to Ceyhan, where about 400,000 barrels were stored.

6. Deja vu...
