(Fresno GOP mayor) Autry Supports Feinstein For Re-Election
http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/news/050205_nw_autry.html

Fresno Mayor Alan Autry made a controversial announcement today in front of Fresno's City Hall and he may be accused of crossing party lines.

The outspoken Republican mayor, Alan Autry, is supporting a staunch Democrat.

Some may see it as controversial because Senator Dianne Feinstein is a Democrat and Mayor Alan Autry is a Republican.

But, the mayor said it is actually the easiest decision he has had to make as the mayor of Fresno.

... Autry said he is a staunch Republican, but he highlighted Feinstein's willingness to look at school vouchers and her support to take out Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

... Autry went on to say, "Quite frankly, has been more conservative than those running around in Sacramento and Washington with an 'R' beside their political affiliation."

3. Yes, who's gaming whom here
This one is enough to make my head spin. Who's trying to hurt the other side the most with this one? What about double-crosses and triple-crosses?

4. Not as bad as you might think
Feinstein is looking at school vouchers, but so far hasn't been in favor of them.

She also technically didn't support the war since her vote wasn't to go to war, but gave Bush the authority to present evidence to the U.N. Bush violated the Congressional action by going to war without a U.N. resolution as was required by Congress.

5. she voted to approve the use of vouchers
in DC.

She supported the invasion and is still a cheerleader - she voted FOR the $592 million Iraqi embassy inserted in the 'emergency' defense appropriations bill - her husband is making $$$$$$$ off defense contracts. The only thing she knows, and seems 2 have a passion for, thankfully, is the judiciary committee.

6. What, Bubba, trying to change the subject?
Carlos Brown aka Mayor Bubba has been feeling some scorching heat regarding his travel arrangements that include his wife. I really dont know or care what pathetic axe grinding or sexual needs go into this story, but either he has run out of anti-gay marriage stunts to pull on the steps of city hall, or he is desperate to give the wags something else to tongue.
Fuck Feinstein.
I have a new t-shirt that shows the good ol boy and sez
Bubba wants to fuck
I may just have to wear it downtown now.

8. "staunch" Democrat?
LOL!

They're both a couple of Republicrats.

Wise up Cali and run someone against her in the primary- or better yet, get her into the governorship where she would do less harm.

9. My bet -- she plans to run as a Republican.
The recent Democratic convention was a wake-up call for her.

14. Since Autry is now in all kinds of hot water himself
here locally over misuse of funds, that's not much of an endorsement!
