Former senator admitted to ER;
reported in stable condition

BREAKING NEWS
The Associated Press
Updated: 10:09 p.m. ET April 28, 2005

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Former Sen. Zell Miller fell ill Thursday while giving a speech and was taken to a hospital emergency room.

Miller excused himself from the stage at a banquet for the Gainesville Care Center at the Georgia Mountains Center and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

<snip>

“Mrs. Miller has said he had flu-like symptoms for a couple of days and wouldn't stay in bed like she wanted,” Hurst said, quoting from a statement released by Miller's wife. “He wants to go home, but the doctors want to keep him for observation.”

32. Bill Frist: The Edgar Cayce of Congress
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 09:35 PM by IanDB1
Schiavo case has no easy answers
By Tom Hennessy
Staff columnist

<snip>

Sen. Bill Frist, R-Tenn., a doctor himself, rendered a long-distance verdict worthy of Edgar Cayce. He claimed he could tell from videotapes that Schiavo was not in a vegetative state. It must be noted that Frist has never seen the woman in person.

Edgar Cayce (1877-1945)
dgar Cayce is known as one of America's greatest psychics. His followers maintain that Cayce was able to tap into some sort of higher consciousness, such as God or the Akashic record, to get his "psychic knowledge." He predicted that in 1958 the U.S. would discover some sort of death ray used on Atlantis.

54. Zell Miller taken to hospital
(CNN) -- Former Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia was taken to a hospital late Thursday, a nurse at the facility outside Atlanta said.

Miller, 73, arrived via ambulance at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville about 8:45 p.m., nurse Dan Hurst told CNN in a phone interview. He said he could not give details about what caused the hospitalization.

Hurst said the former senator and state governor could talk and respond.

Miller was the keynote speaker at an event for the Gainesville Care Center, a pregnancy resource center. Witnesses said Miller felt faint, and medical services were summoned.

88. Instant Karma's gonna get you....
Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you’re gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin’ to do
It’s up to you, yeah you

Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin’
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin’ at fools like me
Who in the hell d’you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Ev’ryone come on

Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Ev’ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
When you’re ev’rywhere
Come and get your share

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun...

83. Sorry, but he's going to reap what he sow.
He decided to join the dominionists and claim to speak for god, Zell Miller will now get his justice how he asked for it.

The real god will allow Zell Miller to die, simply fade away into obscurity. That is the way of destiny in a society that believes it has become higher than god.

The Associated Press reported that Miller was suffering from flu-like symptoms.

99. Not that it's important
On the extreme-right-wing blogs they link to the posts (and google archives when comments are removed) here and on daily kos as examples of they call the party of tolerance. When we allow words of hate and bad wishes, not just towards bush which is well deserved, but directed towards people suffering from bad health like Zel and Laura inghram (breast cancer) we diminish our message. Hate doesn't reflect the views of the majority of us. We need to police ourselves and not allow those on our extreme to define us, we're better than that. Besides, that's what the extreme-right is doing for the other side, let's learn from their mistake.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Former Sen. Zell Miller (news, bio, voting record) fell ill while giving a speech Thursday night and was taken to a hospital emergency room. His wife said he had flu-like symptoms.

Miller, 73, was in stable condition at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to nursing supervisor Tammy Harbison. She said she did not know what made Miller ill. The hospital said Miller was alert and cracking jokes, but would likely be kept overnight.

Miller, who gave a fiery keynote speech against fellow Democrats at last year's Republican National Convention, left the Senate in January.

He was Georgia's governor from 1991 to 1999.
