Orders fly in for Boeing 787
Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 05:13 AM by Turley
Boeing executives are predicting a blowout quarter for 787 sales that will seal the success of the Everett-assembled jet and leave a proposed rival from Airbus in its dust.

A big order from Air India is expected today, on the heels of one announced yesterday by Air Canada.

The pace is a sharp reversal from late last year, when Boeing was embarrassed by failing to hit its announced target of 200 orders for the new, advanced-technology jetliner.

3. How about the gas-turbine powered US Navy?
Since the Spruance class destroyers came out, the navy abandoned efficient boiler-turbine ships and went all-turbine and all-nuclear, all the time. F##ker Osama gets the last laugh.

8. Gas Turbines
The Navy shifted to gas turbine propulsion for ships because it was more fuel efficient and maintenance efficient than Boiler/geared turbine propulsion.

7. Hoist Mainsail!
It will take forever against the prevailing westerlies. They could sail around the world west to east through Panama and around the Cape of Good Hope. You will get there eventually.
