Chafee Says He'll Vote for Bolton as U.S. Envoy to UN
April 19 (Bloomberg) -- John Bolton moved closer to becoming U.S. ambassador to the United Nations as Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee said he will support Bolton's nomination when the Senate Foreign Relations Committee votes today.

Chafee's vote was in question. Republicans hold a 10-8 advantage on the panel, and a single defection would produce a tie vote that could block the nomination or send it to the full Senate without the panel's recommendation. Democrats on the foreign relations panel are united against Bolton.

``I am a strong supporter for the president's ability to name his team,'' Chafee, of Rhode Island, told reporters on Capitol Hill in Washington.

Chuck Hagel of Nebraska is now the only Republican who's not said for certain that he'll support Bolton. Hagel is ``likely'' to vote for Bolton if no negative information comes out before the vote, Hagel spokesman Mike Buttry said yesterday

1. Chaffee is a coward, a bastard and needs to be voted out. Its
been a good day for fascism. What next? End of the fillibuster? What will you say then, Chaffee? Bush has a right to become defacto dictator of AmeriKKKa?

4. No negative information?
These assclowns called senators are a joke. Anybody with an hour and an internet connection can figure it out. But they are always so fucking clueless..ignorance as a ruse to keep their jobs.

I hope their loyalty to this unrightly elected neo-fascist joke of President comes back to haunt them. That's the only justice I can see.

16. Repukes want to vote "blind"...John Kerry makes the accusation.
"We were not born yesterday. The Republicans want to vote for John Bolton. There are 10 Republicans here," Lugar told the eight Democrats on the panel.

"Is the chairman saying it doesn't matter what we know about John Bolton?" asked last year's defeated presidential candidate, John Kerry, D-Mass. "If you don't know some of the allegations that have come across the transom then you are voting in the blind. Maybe you want to vote in the blind."

We need to really target Chaffee for the 2006 elections. He is vulnerable and needs to be put out to retirement.

9. I hate how these guys have no problem shitting the public
about their "faith" in chimp. In fact, they are all wondering when chimp is going to lose it and launch a first strike nuclear attack. They are shit scared of incurring the wrath of rove, apparently a fate worse that death, so they toe the line no matter what.

11. Idiot Lugar
``The president deserves to have his nominee represent him at the United Nations,'' panel chairman Richard Lugar said in a statement prepared to open today's session.

So, uh, who is supposed to represent the United States in the UN?

17. wait until it is the people of Connecticut's turn to vote for Chafee.
The repubs won't vote for him and the dems won't vote for him. If he has already screwed himself, he may as well vote his conscious now. Why vote like a Nazi when you don't have to. Maybe his life would be in danger if he voted his conscious.
