Eric Rudolph Due in Court to Plead Guilty in Atlanta, Birmingham Bombings
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBZM4TAH7E.html

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Eric Rudolph plans to explain how and why he committed a string of deadly bombings starting with a blast at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 - but not just yet, his attorney said.

Rudolph, due in court Wednesday for twin hearings in Alabama and Georgia where he is set to plead guilty to four bombings, likely will do the minimum required by law to convince a judge of his guilt: Answering "yes" when asked if he agrees with evidence laid out by prosecutors. snip

Rudolph, believed to be a follower of a white supremacist religion that is anti-abortion, anti-gay and anti-Semitic, eluded a 5 1/4-year manhunt in the Appalachian wilderness. He was captured near a grocery store in Murphy, N.C., in 2003. snip

The owner of the Alabama clinic that Rudolph bombed hopes his confession leads to the arrest of others she believes may have assisted in the attack. "Absolutely he had help," said Diane Derzis, whose New Woman All Women Health Care installed security cameras after the attack. "There's not a doubt in my mind."

This guy is an admitted terrorist. Come on all you death penalty lovers? Why isn't this bastard going to fry? Oh cause he's a white American terrorist? He's one of the good guys.

I never even thought about it until you just mentioned it. Just where are all the death penalty lovers on this one? Guess the death penalty is reserved for darker skinned people as I have suspected all along.

Take a look at this thread and tell me if there may be a connection here like I do:

3. It's more than just race, although race is part of it
Rudolph is a christian, who was acting out of what he thought God wanted him to do, at least when he bombed a gay bar and abortion clinics. There are a lot of people out there who are sympathetic to his cause, if not his methods, including the current administration. Plenty of people helped him hide out in the mountains while he was on the run.

On top of that, he did make a plea arrangement. In his case, the only thing the prosecutor could offer was life/no parole. This way a media circus trial is avoided and the government saves money on the legal fees involved with a trial and subsequent appeals.

I'm opposed to the death penalty in any case at any time, whether it's Rudolph, Mumia, Scott Peterson, or Timothey McVeigh.

5. He copped a plea ...
... and it's possible he's feeding the authorities information.

We'll see if there's more arrests.

6. This way a media circus trial is avoided...
...and also a whole lot of bad publicity for for those who agree with the ideology of this kind of scum too. These are the kinds of cases that I wouldn't seeing have on my TV everyday.

7. And how did they manage to call it a "white supremacist religion"
with a straight face? I guess this experience taints the word "religion" forever.

11. "White supremacist cult" is a better description.
Religion should be about love, not hate!

10. I think it has more to do with the plea deal he made.
"I'll tell you where the 300lbs of explosives are so that no one else gets hurt, but I don't get put to death." He had buried explosives right off the road way, right next to the investigators building, and only Eric knows where else.

4. Will Eric be protected in prison as well as he was while
waiting trial, and while running from the authorities? Will the "Army of God" help or kill this rat now that he has squealed like a pig?

8. He's headed for the "Supermax" prison in Colorado.
He may be kept totally separate from other prisoners.

14. Who knows what will happen to him....

All I know, is that I live in Georgia. He bombed clinics, gay clubs and the Olympic Park ( I have friends who were there that night). I was at the Olympics, the morning after the bombing. It was scary and awful. He bombed the clinic in Alabama and blinded that poor woman.. My family is from Western NC, where he hid out. He killed people.

He is a RW/Fundie terrorist. He deserves to be put away until he dies.

9. I've noticed
that the mainstream media reports on Rudolph mention the abortion clinic and Olympics bombings, but fail to note the gay bar bombings, just lumping them under "other". Is it possible that given the sizable votes to outlaw gay marriage, that the media is trying to shove this fact under the rug? Do they feel that in telling the truth that Rudolph was a homicidal homophobe that somebody out in Red State America is going to feel sorry for him, or at least excuse him?

His crimes against gay America are at least as serious as anything else he's done.
