With Clark drafted, volunteers' fight over
Interesting little piece from Boston Globe:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- There are sacrifices, and then there are sacrifices.

Lots of political operatives go nomadic during campaign season, leaving home to live near candidates' headquarters. Larry Weatherford, 36, left his wife and children in Oklahoma this summer for something less secure: long hours, no pay, and a corner of sleeping space in a Little Rock loft dubbed "the barracks" -- all in the hope of getting a man he'd never met to run for president.

1. Admirable yes, but...
I would think that people who do this would be able to better serve their candidate from their own hometown where they are more established and more influential.

2. Clark's campaign is very young
He's got great potential and is doing fine for being a politician with just a few days' practice. But his organization is REALLY nascent. He's got about a month to get his act together, or it will be a bad sign.

But if he can capitalize on his early performance, he can do quite well. I hope he puts work into nurturing the grassroots: his Meetup numbers are great, and could approach 50% of Dean's number in a few weeks, which would be huge.
