Missouri Lawmakers Pass Bill Authorizing Cuts in Medicaid
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBNWXJQ97E.html

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri lawmakers passed a bill authorizing the elimination or reduction of Medicaid health coverage for tens of thousands of low-income residents.

The state House on Thursday sent the bill to Gov. Matt Blunt, delivering him a key victory in his budget battle. The state Senate passed the measure last month. snip

Blunt, a Republican, and GOP legislative leaders say the Medicaid cuts are needed to balance a budget that increases school funding without seeking higher taxes.

Under the House plan, a single parent of two could earn no more than $71 a week to qualify for Medicaid.

2. That is insane
$71 a week? If you make more than $71 a week you can't get Medicaid?

If you have 2 kids and make $71 or less a week, how the hell do you live?

It just gets worse and worse in this country.

14. no kidding!
How do you support an adult and two children on less than $71.00 a week? You'd have to be homeless, or living in a shelter, to exist on three hundred dollars a month. It seems like this effectively cuts almost everyone in Missouri from Medicaid. How could it not?

Medicare will be next. That is the real prize for these scum like Blunt. Wonder why pricks like Lou Dobbs never mentions anything about this? Look over there at them funny talking brown people he likes to talk about non-stop.

5. I really hate what is happening, but, sadly,
the people that this is happening to are a lot of the people who voted for Baby Blunt. And Baby Blunt cares NOTHING for the people of Missouri. There is going to be some serious hurting here in MO before these dimwits wake up and realize what they've wrought upon themselves. They asked for it, so now they must live with it. Poor fools!

7. Gary & Vivian Ruckel, idiots who voted for Blunt & now getting screwed ...

Medicaid cuts could carry a political cost, too

By KEVIN MURPHY

The Kansas City Star

GERSTER, Mo. — Gary Ruckel, like most rural Missourians, backed Matt Blunt for governor last fall and voted other Republicans into legislative seats.

Ruckel agreed with Blunt on issues such as gun control and gay marriage, but he was not considering a subject that hit much closer to home: medical care.

So when Blunt proposed cuts in Medicaid last month that could cost Ruckel and his wife, Vivian Ruckel, some services, the couple had second thoughts about backing Republicans.

....

He needs 9 different meds, she 20 (not a typo, 20) and these two fools only cared about gun control and gay marriage :eyes:

17. That is exactly how I feel except that most of the poor just don't vote
I guess that in and of itself is enough. Not voting is the same thing as voting for the enemy IMHO. The only thing needed for evil to to succeed is for good people to stand by and do nothing. I will not be surprised if all the Red states end medicaid and aid to the impoverished. Won't that make them special? All I can think of saying is a line from an old song. "Ya gots to suffa if ya wants to sing the blues"

12. The devil has us by the throat here
and we invited him in. I lost medicaid myself, I'm just hoping that I can hang on until people wake up and run these bastards out.
this is a gilded age administration, they answer only to the business interests that put them in office, the people mean nothing.

We are in a race to the bottom, and we're winning, well, losing actually, it's sad but true sometimes you have to hit the bottom to see how low you've fallen, we're in free fall now.
