Cheney Opposes Retribution Against Schiavo Judges

By Mike Allen and Brian Faler
Monday, April 4, 2005; Page A04

Vice President Cheney says he opposes revenge against judges for their refusal to prolong the life of the late Terri Schiavo, although he did not criticize House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) for declaring that they will "answer for their behavior."

---------------------------------------------------------

I love how he says "their refusal to prolong the life of the late Terri Schiavo"
instead of the appropriate response of
against judges for "their strict adherence to the laws that this great country was founded on as well as families rights".

What a complete ASS!!!

1. I'll say it once more...every threat should result in an interruption of
tv and radio programs and be reported - a threat against a judge or a family is more important than interrupting a program to show a car chase from a helicopter.

2. What a Statesman!
"I come not to praise Caesar, but to bury him..." oldest trick in the book: demagoguery!

3. I saw that too
and did you see the paragraph about him running in '08???

'With no obvious successor to President Bush, some Republicans have begun to buzz about drafting Cheney. "I'm not a candidate, don't plan to be a candidate," he said. "If nominated, I will not run. If elected, I will not serve. Is that the Shermanesque statement? I said on television someplace the other day, not only no, but hell no." Cheney said he has noticed in previous White Houses that "the closer you get to that election when the guy in the Oval is going to be hanging it up, and the vice president is going to get ready to run, you get a division" and the number two loses some effectiveness.'

Hillarious! Am I to believe that he doesn't want to admit that he's already running the country???? 'and the number two loses some effectiveness'.......ROTFLMAO

5. His denial just keeps the topic alive
and that is his intent.

Plus if Cheney stops short of advocating murder, it makes him look like a "moderate"

6. His way of putting a contract on the judges without links back to him?

a kind of "I didn't suggest this" cover.

8. Oh yes, let's single out people OPPOSED to retribution now
Look at Mr. Cheney. What a Big Hearted Philanthropist he is for opposing retribution. Let us praise him with Great Praise.

What a heaping load of feces. The very idea that our heads of state promote some vague "retribution" against the judiciary for whatever reason is a cause for alarm and disgust; instead, we are supposed to marvel at someone in the administration acting as if they gave a crap?

The bar is at an all-time low.

10. Traditional marriage = cornerstone of civilization except for Congress
Because, of course, if Congress doesn't like what you do with your marriage, they will intervene.
