Over 38,000 Honduran Public Employees Strike
Tegucigalpa, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) More than 38,000 syndicated Honduran public employees went on an indefinite strike Tuesday to demand a retroactive salary increase.

A statement by the Honduras´ Public Employees National Association (ANDEPH) said that the private sector should pay a salary increase approved five years ago and blamed the government for the unpleasant situation created.

Workers have demanded in court the retribution of a monthly fee of $18.65 owed since 2000, according to a decree approved that same year during the government of ex President Carlos Flores (1998-2002), according to the ANDEPH report. <snip>
