Willie Jackson Jr. belonged to two very different police departments.

A real one. And a fake one.

The real one was the Cook County Sheriff's Department, where he was in the Internal Affairs Division.

The fake one, law enforcement sources say, was the U.S. Railways Police Department, which has listed him as its chief.

Jackson's leadership of the U.S. Railways Police has placed him under investigation by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and he's suspected of trying to buy automatic weapons with his U.S. Railways Police credentials -- credentials he bought over the Internet, the sources said.

Jackson, 50, hasn't been charged with criminal wrongdoing...
