Iranian diplomat dismisses nuclear weapons allegations
One of Iran's top diplomats says allegations by the US Government that Iran has a covert nuclear weapons program are baseless. Britain, France and Germany are offering Tehran a package of incentives, aimed at securing a guarantee that it will not seek nuclear weapons. The United States insists Iran has a covert nuclear weapons program.

But Iran's ambassador to the United Nations Javad Zarif says that is not so.
"Iran has been under the most intrusive inspections over the last two years and that inspection time and again has produced only one result - that Iran has not diverted its nuclear program toward non-peaceful means," Mr Zarif said.
