Iraq dossier prompts rule changes
BBC

Stricter rules to prevent a repeat of intelligence failings in the run up to the war on Iraq have been announced by Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.

The new controls will tighten up the procedures under which the Government uses secret intelligence.

It follows criticism in last year's Butler Report of Tony Blair's informal style of "government by sofa".

It also said the 2002 dossier on Iraq had not made clear that intelligence about Iraq's weapons was "very thin".
