Edwards starts job at University of North Carolina law school
Wednesday March 23, 2005

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) John Edwards, former senator and vice presidential candidate, has a new job as head of the University of North Carolina law school's new Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity.

Edwards, who represented North Carolina for one term in the Senate, began work Tuesday by moderating a panel discussion on the importance of savings and assets in moving families out of poverty.

``We have millions of Americans who work full time and still live in poverty, and that is absolutely wrong,'' said Edwards, a Democrat.

Edwards will earn $40,000 from the state university to head the center and has made a two-year commitment. His salary is paid from private funds raised by the university.

2. Who does John Edwards think he is, anyway --
-- talking about poverty and human dignity when the current president plays the corporate power game so well?

_____

Exactly the emphasis needed in an age of corruption and avarice. We need a democracy for ALL Americans.

Go, John Edwards.

4. Go JRE !
What a concept, helping the working poor! In the meantime, the republican congress shot down raising the min wage because it would stifle job growth!
