DeLay Treated for Heart Condition
March 10, 2005, 5:41 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was treated for a heart condition Thursday at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, his office said.

The Texas Republican was released and returned home after a series of tests. He intends to stick to his plans to go to Florida, Georgia and Texas this weekend.

Capt. Michael Curran, the head of cardiology at the hospital, said in a statement that the 57-year-old Delay, who met doctors at the Capitol and then Bethesda after experiencing minor fatigue, has a condition known as arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat.

Naval Hospital? He's NOT a veteran or retired military is he? Oh, he's got connections ... not sure how the government representative pukes with all their socialized health care fit into the military hospital system here in D.C. Our Representatives more than anyone else should be pushing for AT LEAST what they are blessed to enjoy with regard to medical services.

20. Developments like this can ....
often be interpreted to mean that the person in question has come to realize that the criminal charges against them truly are serious.

It gives ones lawyer additional leverage for delays and possibly even judge shopping and, "worst comes to worst", it can have value when it comes to sentencing.

Back when the Plame affair was fresh and Novak was experiencing the initial heat of the investigation I could have sworn he was practicing getting his "old guy with a shaky memory" groove on. That's going by a few of his appearances on TV.

As the heat on him lessened so did his act. That's my very subjective 2 cents anyways.

DeLay Treated for Heart Condition

1 hour, 37 minutes ago Politics - U. S. Congress
I think the dogs are nipping at his heels. I think the criminal case against him for campaign contribution fraud is picking up steam and he's getting antsy. Interesting, I didn't know he even had a heart . . .

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was treated for a heart condition Thursday at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, his office said.

He'd apparently built up scar tissue up to a 1/3 of an inch thick over the entire lower half of one lung and it had to be peeled away. I heard it will take him as long to recover as the first time.

62. Apparently it's three sizes too small

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.

You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart's an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You've got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.

I wouldn't touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.

Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the seasick crockodile.

You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You're a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.

The three words that best describe you, are as follows, and I quote:

You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You're the king of sinful sots.
Your heart's a dead tomato splotched
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.

Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.

You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked hoss.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a three decker saurkraut and toadstool sandwich
With arsenic sauce!

79. Beat me to it...
"House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was treated for a heart condition Thursday at Whoville Medical Center, his office said.

The Whoville Republican was released and returned home after a series of tests. He intends to stick to his plans to meet with the Star-bellied Sneeches and Suzie Lou Who.

Dr. Seuss, the head of cardiology at the hospital, said in a statement that the 57-year-old Delay has a condition known as toosmallia, or in layman's terms...his heart is three sizes too small."

76. Waiting for him to show up in PJs...
...at his arraignment.

Perhaps, though, he's paving the way for a tearful resignation due to health problems.

87. Dr. Frist to microsurgery STAT!
Amazing cutting-edge technological advances will allow the doctors to operate on DeLay's heart, which is approximately the size of a single molecule of DDT.

92. I do wonder about some responses here...
Maybe I'm not cut out for these sort of insults, but, if this happened to Dick Durbin, I would expect these sort of things to be flying on Freeperville, but, here? Come on. Why do people here stoop to these levels? Perhaps I'm not cut out for wishing others dead, or "Live a long time so you can go to jail"? What sort of comments are these? Maybe I'm just too much of a live and let live person, but, it really makes me wonder when I see some of the stuff on here.. I know a lot of it is a joke, but, some of it isn't, and that's the stuff that just makes me wonder if hatred really is something owned only by the right wing..

Just my two cents, and I'll say that I hope he gets better, because I think we all deserve that, even though its harder with a Republican lackofhealth plan.

~Almost
