Iraqi policeman killed, three wounded in Basra

BASRA, Iraq (AFP) - An Iraqi police officer was killed and three wounded, including a civilian, in a bomb attack in the southern port of Basra.

"The police officer was killed, while two officers and one civilian were wounded in central Basra," Lieutenant Colonel Karim al-Zaidi said Wednesday.

The explosion happened at 9:30 am (06H30 GMT) as the men's police car passed through the port city.
