Bush Asks Patience From U.S. on Iraq War
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush pleaded for Americans' patience Wednesday on what he conceded was "a very discouraging day" of death and violence for U.S. troops in Iraq. He urged Iraqis to defy terrorist threats and vote in Sunday's elections.

Bush held a White House news conference hours after more than 30 American troops perished in a helicopter crash in western Iraq and insurgents killed five others in the deadliest day yet for U.S. forces. The deaths pushed the American toll above 1,400.

Unwavering in the course he has set, Bush pledged: "We'll have the troop levels necessary to complete the mission. And that mission is to enable Iraq to defend herself from terrorists - homegrown or terrorists that come in from outside of the country." He made clear that Iraq is nowhere near ready to handle its own security, and he talked about U.S. involvement over the next year.

8. I say "F*ck him" too...
Where was his "patience" with the UN inspectors?

Where was his "patience" when Iraq told him it had no WMDs?

Where was his "patience" with "old" Europe?

Where was his "patience" when confronted by critics?

I say, "F*ck him." If its bad PR he's worried about, then let him swing...

3. Puppydog media isn't even mentioning "5 years" or "10 to 20 yrs" it'll be
"The Republicans' bizarre parallel universe "

http://www.iht.com/articles/537205.html

Here we find Sen John McCain saying that we're in for between "ten to twenty years"; however, in Gen Tommy Frank's book he tells us that we are there for only "five" more years.

every funeral should be attended by either bush, or cheney, or rumsfeld or rice or any of their shadow government. each wounded should not only be visited by (that's a photo op) but assisted and cared for by one of these jackals.

22. What does he have to worry about? His constituents have all kinds
of clever ways to shut themselves off to a soldier dying. It's not just me thinking this. I just talked to a dad whose daughter is in a military academy and he believes that people in this country are going to allow the casualties to run up to 10,000. Completely shocked me when he told me. But he says that's nothing compared to what he foresees happening with tort reform. He expects a blood bath of casualties from product defects and he doesn't believe that Americans will care about that either.

Will it take 10,000 American casualties? It took 50,000 in Vietnam.

"He made clear that Iraq is nowhere near ready to handle its own security, and he talked about U.S. involvement over the next year."

What happened to those 120,000 US-trained Iraqi police and soldiers bravely defending their country from insurgents? Oh yeah, thats right, half of them were never really trained and many of those that were defected to the insurgency when fighting broke out.

Don't forget, he was sent over there, too, to coordinate and oversee the training of Iraqi security people, too. Actually, only for the three months or so he was forced to move while his house was being remodeled.

Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 08:32 PM by calimary
trashing the place. Remember, he's mr. "let me finish!" That's what he whines at any (Irish) journalist who puts tough questions to him and then demands that he answer the question without sidestepping or changing the subject.

His Pentagon is not finished dotting the i's and crossing the t's on the war against Iran. His pirate buddies on the Hill aren't finished taking Social Security apart, ripping up the social safety net, the Constitution, and the Geneva Convention, skirting the law (alberto "Torture's Okay" gonzales is still making the rounds, after all), reconfiguring the Defense Department so it's full of these shadowy new entities that don't come under conventional law, destroying the rest of Iraq, and making the Middle East safe for his PNAC buddies. His cabinet secretaries need to finish figuring up new ways to buy pundits and their assorted services without detection. He still needs a little time...

Besides, it's Hard Work.

We wouldn't even be in this bloody mess, if he had been patient when the U.N. inspectors were in Iraq. Instead he had them expelled because he just couldn't wait to destroy that country and have us pay for it in blood and treasure for years to come. What a fucking ignorant hypocritical lying little piece of shit.
