Administration quietly penalizes Chinese firms
Associated Press

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration has quietly applied new sanctions against eight Chinese companies for helping Iran with its missile programs, a senior U.S. official said today.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed a report in The New York Times that said the State Department had served notice to the Chinese firms early this month. A North Korean company was also penalized.

The official said the sanctions prohibit the companies from doing business in the United States, and ban them from obtaining licenses that allow them to export or obtain a patent for American technologies.

One of the companies was Norinco, China's biggest state-owned weapons maker. In May 2003, Washington sanctioned Norinco after accusing it of aiding Iran's long-range missile program. The company denied the accusation.

Other firms identified by the newspaper as among the eight were the China Great Wall Industry Corp. and the China Aero-Technology Import and Export Corp....cont'd

3. Time to take that CHINESE FOR BEGINNERS class?
Might be a good idea to learn how to say "Don't shoot!!!!" if things keep up. The Chinese are the ones we need to watch out for, not the Iraqis, not the Iranians, not the OBL crowd.

China will be friendly so long as it serves China's needs. If we fuck with them too much, they won't hesitate to expend "human capital" to maintain their quality of life.

China gets a ton of oil from Iran. We screw with that, we are screwing with THEM. They won't take it lying down, either. They're getting too used to cars, heated homes, streetlights, affordable plastics and synthetics, high tech gadgets, and whatnot. Iranian oil fuels their ever-expanding economy.

Of course, you have incompetents in the current American dictatorship who do not understand the dynamics, who don't care to learn, who think their say-so is all that is needed to 'make it so.'

I hate being associated with this insane group of assholes, simply by virtue of my citizenship. I guess now we know how the average Russkie felt during the Cold War....
