Ancient Babylon wrecked by US-led forces: British Museum
Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 08:13 AM by rooboy
US-led forces in Iraq have caused irreparable damage to the site of the ancient city of Babylon, contaminating the soil and destroying archaeological evidence, according to a British Museum report.

According to John Curtis, curator of the museum's Ancient Near East department, the site has suffered "substantial damage" while being used as a military depot by American and Polish forces for the past two years.

"This is tantamount to establishing a military camp around the Great Pyramid in Egypt or around Stonehenge in Britain," Mr Curtis charged in his report, quoted by the Guardian newspaper.

"The status of future information about these areas will therefore be seriously compromised," he warned.

4. But hey... it's worth it... we have achieved "our" goals.... we have given
cause for hundreds of thousands of new recruits to put on the "terrorist" hat, and seek to avenge the death of father, mother, sister, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, niece, son daughter.... not to mention just getting even for tearing up their country TWICE. If they did this to us... we would or at least many of us would take it quite personally.
