TEHRAN -- Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi on Thursday deplored assassination of the Swedish Foreign Minister Mrs Anna Lindh.

Assefi said the Islamic Republic of Iran is deeply saddened by the bitter incident, IRNA said.
He condemned terrorism in any form and said the global community should be mobilized to uproot the mischievous phenomenon.

Highlighting significant role of late Anna Lindh in broadening ties between Iran and Sweden, Assefi sympathized with the Swedish government and the family of the victim.

Some analysts believe that the "yes" side could receive a boost after Lindh's death, as the sympathy vote kicks in, making it a closer race than previously thought. As tributes to Lindh poured in from across the globe, thousands of shocked and grieving Swedes gathered at sites across Stockholm, including the NK department store where Lindh was attacked.

This is the same answer for Oswald and Robert Kenedy and Martin Luther King etc... I'm getting tired of the same boring answers!

If I had been there at the stabbing, I would have ripped his face off," said Lanja Rashid as she placed a teddy bear at an impromptu shrine outside Karolinska Hospital where Anna Lindh, the Swedish Foreign Minister, died of her stab wounds.
"We Swedes have to think again. How could he have got away? How could people just stand back and watch?" she said.

Numbed by the brutal murder of Sweden's most popular politician, the country's leaders vowed to press ahead with its referendum, on Monday NZ time, on euro membership.
Goran Persson, the Prime Minister and a long-term ally of Lindh, said: "We don't want to end up in a situation where violence puts an end to the democratic process
