Justice department again defies U.S. judge
Alexandria, Va. — The U.S. Justice Department on Wednesday defied a federal judge for the second time, refusing to allow Zacarias Moussaoui to question senior al-Qaeda captives in preparation for his criminal trial.

Judicial punishment that could damage the prosecution is likely to follow.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema has a range of options, including exclusion of government evidence, barring the death penalty and dismissing charges in the only case to arise from the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Allowing the questioning "would needlessly jeopardize national security at a time of war with an enemy who has already murdered thousands of our citizens," the government said.

1. What is it that the government fears?
"Jeopardizing national security in a time of war?" A catch-22

Ashcroft must be replaced.

3. I think we have to quit saying "the government"
It ain't the government that is the problem....it Asscroft, Cheney, Rice, Wolfowitz, Perle and Bush....they are not the government....we are.

5. You are %110 right!
The government IS NOT the people for the peole by the people

It is the Carlyle boys, Halliburton, and big big big business, and the media caters to their wishes.

4. There is no more rule of law in this country.
This is so much an outrage that I'm actually literally speechless. If they can defy a federal judge with impunity, there is no rule of law in this country. Our entire system depends on the rule of law.

If they can defy this judge on this issue, then they can defy a judge on any issue they disagree on. I guess the next step is that it will be a national security risk to have elections next year.

8. There is something fishy going on here...
You think maybe that the DOJ is throwing this one? Remember when bushy* kept saying "what did the evil-doers think we were gonna do - sue em?" Now this guy may get off at trial due to DOJ moves. I can just see bush* coming out and blaming trial lawyers, liberals, etc for the outcome(with a compliant press right behind) and then pushing for the tribunals to be stepped up.

hmmmmmm.

9. They'll just hustle him off to Guantanamo
I saw some suggestion of this a few months ago -- that if the administration doesn't like the way things are going, they'll move him out of the justice system altogether and hand him over to the military.

At this point, I'm expecting to see that happen within the next couple of weeks.

13. Nah, they didn't ISSUE the orders
Imperial Family members and cronies don't get their hands dirty in that way.

14. What would the Imperial Law aquiesce to a Federal Judge for?
Such institutions of the Old American Republic will continue to hold waning power over the parts of the Empire that have been tranformed away from democratic (small 'd') institutions and towards Bushevik Totalitarian-Orwellian institutions.

The DoJ of course, being near Ground Zero for the Busheviks, becauseit is so necessary for controlling their Imperial Subject Population.

So, expect DoJ to lead the way in this matter of ignoring the Old Ways.
