GOP wins ruling in Wash. governor’s race
http://www.crooksandliars.com/
A judge Friday granted a state Republican Party request to block the counting of hundreds of recently discovered King County ballots in the governor’s race, which the GOP’s candidate is winning by just a few dozen votes. Even if the election workers wrongly rejected the ballots — 150 of which were discovered Friday — it is too late for King County to reconsider them now, Pierce County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Arend said
If a ballot is cast and someone misplaces it; is it really a ballot?

3. allowing additional ballots to be counted is a 2-edged sword

There's the chance of fraud in disallowing ballots on election day, and an equal or greater chance of fraud if 'discovered' ballots can be counted days, weeks or months later.

I don't like the ruling, but I can see the rationale.

5. You may only count the ballots that they say you can count
Any law which justifies not counting votes that were legally cast is an invalid law. This is grounds for revolution. If the government can decide to exclude votes, then there is no Democracy, even when the government decides that all the votes have to be counted. It is the ability to make that decision which destroys Democracy.
