In a videotape aired Monday, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant vowed to continue fighting the United States until Washington changed its policies.

In the tape aired on al-Jazeera television, Ayman Al-Zawahri spoke of the Nov. 2 U.S. presidential elections, but it was unclear from his words whether the footage was taped before or after the vote.

Top Bin Laden deputy Ayman al-Zawahri has been caught in Pakistan, according to a report from the region quoted on Israel Radio Monday.

Pakistani forces operating against al Qaida strongholds in the country report capturing the Egyptian national, who was formerly the head of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, which operated in the past against the Egyptian regime.

4. Yes, I remember this too but no US papers reported on it.
BBC did not report it either. I didn't follow up on it in the Israeli papers. Was it a story that was retracted or was he captured? It would be interesting if it turns out they have him in custody and are holding him to turn over to * so that he can appear to be pulling a rabbit out of his hat. Hmmmmmmm?????
