Afghan Gets Death for Journalist Slayings (And Rape)
KABUL, Afghanistan -- Afghan judges sentenced a man to death Saturday over the slaying of three foreign journalists and an Afghan colleague, who were pulled from their cars, robbed and shot as they rushed to cover the collapse of the Taliban.

The judges also convicted Reza Khan of raping an Italian reporter before she died in one of the deadliest attacks on foreign civilians since the fall of the former hardline regime.

3. So will our military personel face the same charges for the deaths of
so many journalists in Iraq? Reuters alone lost 3 or 4.

4. No, Not even remotely possible
Unless one killing of a journalist is viewed as a random breech of proceedure by an individual combatant. We may be commiting atrocities right now, and unless it gets out to the press we will cover it up and move on. Journalists may even be regarded as an expendable liability in some instances .

They could be neutralized and the incident passed off as an accident or a justifiable mistake.

We have to not be deterred from killing Iraqis who oppose the US occupation for as long as there is oil to defend. Do I sound a little cynical ?
