but your first sentence is correct, and I personally don't believe based on pretty extensive experience with how Army confinement facilities work that he would have faced near this kind of treatment in an Army facility.

We generally do not hold folks in "stockades" anymore. We might keep them in the "D-Cell" for a day or two for pretrial confinement but then they are either sent to a local civilian facility (if it's reputable) or we send them to one of the regional confinement facilities. The problem is, those facilities are all shutting down and a new one has been built at Leavenworth next to the maximum security DB. The gap between the former and the latter as far as availability may help explain why he is in the hands of the Marines.

If I were the Army prosecutors, quite frankly I would try to move him out of there because the abuse is going to screw up their case as far as the credit he is likely to receive for violating Article 13 in his treatment.
