There's a big wildlife refuge, the Wild Animal Sanctuary, near Keenesburg, CO, not too far from where my sister lives, that would have provided a very good home for these cats. They do know how to treat them well, rehabilitate them if they were abused, give them lots of land to roam, a decent diet, everything they need that so many dumbasses who own big cats cannot provide.

I can't say enough good things about this place.
