It was never going to happen anyway. Once people got to know him they were going to find out why New Yorkers were ready to run him out of town on a rail until he became a hero on September 11. Seriously, the thought that the born again brigade was going to embrace a New York City mayor with several ex wives running around, a couple of gay best friends and a rather disturbingly large collection of pictures of him in drag was nuts to begin with.
