We bomb people a world away who are innocent and not a threat.

We use drones, tanks, cruise missiles and have for many years now - killing men, women, children who did us no wrong in a war on terror where those most guilty skate and make backroom deals (we propped up the Taliban before, we are doing it again, etc).

Those most innocent, as in most wars, die without nary a thought by many.

So a man that many feel is innocent is going to die tonight, here in the good ole US of A - what is new?

We execute anyone we think is or was a threat, even if they are/were not.

Saddam Hussein was hung - and many thousands of people who were not part of his regime died in bombings and are still suffering and dying because they are part of a 'threat' to me and you.

We commemorate 9/11 and talk about all the innocent who died - and then turn around and cheer on the bombing of people who are innocent and have no problem with letting someone we are not sure is guilty of anything be executed.

Justice is a word that has lost it's meaning here - it is based on money and the ability to pay for the best defense, because we don't want the truth - we want action based on emotion (the same thing the RW accuses those on the left of oddly enough).

If we are willing to kill many thousands who were no threat to us, why is it so surprising that we would carry out an execution of one person here?

I am not going to ask God to have mercy on his soul - but on all the rest of us who are just sitting on the sidelines in our little lives and let it all happen. Myself included.
