84. To be fair to that DUer, the OP was commenting on the
PEOPLE coming together to help one another, and went on to say it was replaced by fear and mistrust soon enough.
Nowhere was there a God Bless American ring to it -- just acknowledgment of the good in our fellow Americans at a time in history.
That's all. :shrug:
I honestly don't think many here have stars in their eyes about the state of our country. We're all furious and heartbroken and pretty much see it as it is.
I don't see the jingoism as you do, but maybe you're more attuned to it than I.
