42. Well, first, let's keep in mind that Sarah probably never intended on running...
...she a grifter, and her lazy ass wants to do as little as possible for as much $$$ as possible. Sarah doesn't want to be president of the U.S. or even run for President of the U.S., that would take time, effort, campaigning--she's did that in 2008 along with all the debates and interviews and questions from the press. She didn't like it. It was work and it was hard and people were mean to her and her family! No. What Sarah wants is all the gravy, the perks that go with being a presidential candidate, but none of the work or chance that she might have to actually do the job. She wants to be what she is--a celebrity. Feted, asked to speak, adored by fans, given money for doing nothing but tossing out slogans, and appearing now and then on tv. That's all she's ever wanted...what else would such a former Beauty Queen want than for people to fawn over her for being their symbol and avatar?

The only time we really had to worry about Palin was during the 2008 election. After she quit as governor of Alaska, it was over; any talk from her of running for president was just a way to keep her face on the cover of Newsweek and keep the stadiums filled with cheering teabaggers.

Which doesn't mean I'm in disagreement that her time is ended. Unfortunately for Sarah, her fifteen minutes are now up. Meaning that even if she hints she'll be running, Newsweek photographers won't be asking to take her picture. And I don't think it's Bachmann who will be taking her place. I think it's Perry. He's an even "prettier" beauty queen and I'm sure the GOP thinks they've got a winner there: the handsome white Christian alternative. I suspect that the GOP has always felt that a woman would be too "iffy." They'll throw Perry up against Obama.

And alas for us...even the high income, high educated GOP will vote for him just to get rid of Obama. Palin might be dead but it's still not save to go back into the water.
