11. Other people's memories of that day fascinate me
Especially the ones who were children at the time.

Intellectually, of course I expect that. But on July 20th I feel like a young man again, working at a young agency, surrounded by other young people. The whole experience was so youthful and energetic, and the accomplishment was so amazing, despite my knowing intimately how much painstaking detailed work had gone into it. To be reminded how long ago it was brings me up short each time.

Not to mention how it was all allowed to fade away, how that magnificent foundation was abandoned. I certainly didn't expect that, at the time.
