I don't have any issues with using ignore. We all opt out of reading some people's posts one way or another. I'm guessing you filter out whose posts you read anyway by doing things like not reading the posts on free republic or hate sites - it's not like we read everything that's posted on the internet. We spend time on forums with the sorts of posts we appreciate.

Some folks just suck the energy out of people. Whether they do it online or in real life, sometimes it's better to simply avoid them instead of getting sucked into their drama. If you want to stop reading someone's posts, there's no shame in making that decision.
