Give the devil his due he did a good job. Even I liked his telling people to "get the hell off the beach".

I think that Christie knows that his schtick is not going to go over too well south of the Mason Dixon line. For one thing he's a Catholic. Now for the fundies who dominate the party that may be one step up the ladder to hell from a Morman like Romney but it's hard to see how they'd fall in love with the guy. He's pro-life but not rabidly so. He's expressed a belief that humans are exacerbating climate change--a heresy in GOP circles and I'm pretty sure he believes in evolution.

He's better off cooling his jets down in Jersey, building up enough bipartisan support to stave off a challenge from, say, Cory Booker, and going for a second term.
