9. Not to defend DeMint, AT ALL, but...
Venture socialism is a way for socialists to make a way for themselves in a capitalist society/state.

Local food, as well as member and worker-owned cooperatives could be looked at as more "socialist" structures.

I work for a cooperative where there is no owner. The members own the cooperative and run it democratically. There are no "profits" per se.

Every member receives a check at the end of the year concurrent to their level of membership (full members receive more) and the amount they spend at the store.

We have no owners, but there is a managerial layer. The rest of us (majority) are Union workers, and members.

When this business opened in 1999 it was a venture into a more democratic *(therefore socialist) way of running businesses.
