7. I'm certain that everyone at DU will pull the lever for Obama.
Where we differ is why. Some will vote for Obama because they are enamoured by him. I know of no one who is giddy about his policies because you never know what they will end up after the compromises, cave-ins and course changes. He could poop in their mouths and they'd eat it up. Soon after they swallowed they'd chastise others for not getting a spoon and digging in while at the same time trying to convince anyone who grimaces that they are bad people.

Others will have to pull the lever because, although we know we are going down the wrong road, at least we are going slower with Obama. If we can get a Progressive in the Whitehouse in 2016, maybe we can turn it around.

You don't seem to understand that Progressives are adamant about wanting progressive policies, not because we are tired of being the target of vitriol from the right and the Whitehouse, or because we want to gloat over politial victories, but because we love the country and believe that our policies will benefit all Americans and cause us to be a stronger country economically, socially and morally.

This is not a pipe dream. Progressivism for the good of the country is pragmatic. progressives are not asking the presdient to do us a favor or throw us some crumbs. We are asking him to do the right thing becasue it is the right thing.

We'll vote for Obama (or I will anyway), but its hard to call it support when I know that the support is not returned.
