5. There's a lot of bigotry world wide
Japan vs China and Korea is a long standing one. There are many divisions within Africa. Many Russians hate Polish people and the other way around. In the US there are long standing tensions between black folks and Latinos. Our roots are tribal in nature and this often feeds right into racism/bigotry. You sometimes see these biases appear across national lines, religious lines, cultural lines and perceived racial lines. There was a time when defending you own and sticking with your group was likely a survival mechanism. Now I believe some of these ancient tendencies are exploited by the ruling class and the very wealthy to keep average folks in line. It's also good for keeping attention and responsibility away from them while they defer it to another target, ie a scapegoat. That scapegoat may be within the country or without.
