A gold mine of information! Reading this article should be a requirement for public office in this country, and copies should be handed out to every US citizen. THIS is what your hard-earned tax dollars are being spent on--this disgraceful war profiteering, war planning and planned oppression of other people, with not even the thinnest of excuses for plotting the destruction of democracy, and horrors beyond horrors against the people in our own hemisphere.

This is one of those articles that I must reserve for further study, and bookmark for future reference. I sussed out the current war plan--Oil War II (Rumsfeld's 12/1/07 WaPo article, "The Smart Way to Defeat Tyrants Like Chavez" helped with that), but I can't cite chapter and verse, the way this article does, nor the history of it except in general terms. Thank you again for this article. Though it confirms my worst fears, it is better to know than not to know. And it is good to do whatever we can to warn people, so that an Iraq War cannot sneak up on us again, with our people unprepared for the lies and the evil juggernaut of war.
