That's possible. I wondered why he has not been a target of extremists. The article does point out that he is careful how he speaks about his father, conscious of the Muslim world's interest in what he has to say.
Still, I would not want to be in his position. All it takes is one person who doesn't get the memo and decides he's harming the cause.
I would think he has way more information that would be of interest to the CIA than any of the old shepherds and the children they rounded up and held for years.
