I had a conversation with a woman one night who was calling for a contribution to the Republican Party ( long story). She asked me what my issues were. When we got to health care, I said I thought we should have universal HC. She told that is what the Republicans stood for.
At that point I asked where she got that idea. She said he husband told her so. I told her that he had lied to here and gave her some websites to go to. She said if I was right there would hell to pay for her husband.

Point being that rather than think for themselves, Rs look to some one they trust to tell them what to think. And they trust the snake oil salesmen and the ponzi schemers.
