magically change the philosophy of a long career overnight, in order to be able to speak to Democratic groups throughout the country without a segment of the Democratic base standing up and booing them.

Instead of listening politely as Kucinich bashed everyone else on the dais at a Democratic function, including Kerry and Dean, I'd have booed and held up signs against him for his "equal to Henry Hyde" stance. I doubt that I would have been alone--as there are many women in his age group that understood just how vile his position anti-women's choice was.

That he magically changed his tune overnight to avoid that kind of scene seems to establish him as some beacon of integrity for people who like to call themselves "progressives"--because they adore Kucinich, not because he

Sorry, but I don't find his kind of pandering at all equivalent with "integrity. The word for a politician who suddenly finds a different "cause" after many years of moving in the opposite direction is "opportunist", not "person of integrity" and I don't trust opportunists at all. Kucinich is one of the biggest around as far as I can see.
