It should be obvious to anyone who reads a newspaper or watches tv that Guantanamo is all but closed and the only reason it isn't is because of resistance by stateside politicians to the transfer of the last few prisoners. What did you expect? Just sending them all home without trials?

Civil liberties have been restored. Just LOOK AT THE NEW REGS -- oh, forgot, you can't because that would disrupt your world view. But the DOJ has issued lots of new regs dealing with terrorism suspects that have all these clauses that say, "subject to the Fourth and Fifth Amendments". It's like a new mantra in the regs. Warrantless wiretapping has been ended.

But people want to believe what they want to believe if they have a negative world view.
