139. Time for the Noel Coward story again...

One night, some of his friends roped Noel Coward into seeing a play. The play featured a bratty child actress whom Coward absolutely despised, and also used the gimmick of a live horse on stage.

Sure enough, the child actress led the horse onstage and it massively defecated.

Coward observed: "The producer could have solved all his problems, if he had only shoved the child's head up the horse's arse."
