for the substantive post. You make an interesting point that I had not thought of—about the importance of the US reflecting the melting pot via language diversity. Although I don't like "official" anything, I do sometimes wonder how we can be a cohesive country if we do not share a language. Gotta rethink that.
Re visiting the US English site, no question believers go there. But it did present one side of the issue.
