17. Obviously, it's wrong for anyone to support oppression....
but many folks consider it especially odious for members of an embattled group, to take the side of the oppressors. Think also of how a lot of union workers hate scabs even more than oppressive bosses--no-one likes being abused by anyone, but it's particularly galling to be betrayed by your own. Thus the hostility of black Americans toward Toms.
