but Ridge admitted HE THOUGHT raising the terror alert was politically motivated, while at the same time admitted that the NSC and FBI were not giving him critical information (so how could he actually be sure?). This isn't exactly the same thing as * or Darth actually admitting that it was done for political reasons. In the end, I think many people saw it for what it was at the time, thankfully.
