But then the country as a whole realized that other countries have fantastic, free, interconnected super highways that get all people from place to place faster, cheaper and better than our crappy system of disconnected private toll roads. Then imagine that the President and Congress tell you we can't go for government run and built superhighways because we are "used" to the crappy private toll roads and besides, what will happen to the owners of the toll roads and the toll booth collectors?

Why does anyone accept an excuse that because we have a crappy system and have always had a crappy system, that we must continue to have a crappy system? Why are the owners of the toll roads more important than the users of the roads who far, far outnumber them?
