19. Justice Served...

I was just as frustrated as anyone to see the ongoing criminal enterprise of the past 8 years. And I still am. But I saw a lot of people putting hopes in impeachment as a way to change things that would have allowed the "Goodlings" of that regime slip free. I saw it happen with Watergate and didn't want to see this again. I still don't.

While it was agonizing, many held their powder until the boooosh regime was removed to avoid the posibility of having all their work squashed Plame-style with a pardon. Also, remember, we had a Justice Department that was totally dysfunctional...acting as boooosh's lawyer, not that of the people. Criminal cases that could be the basis of a solid impeachment have been twarted...now they can and will proceede.

I'm more cynical about Rove...his latest ploy is to save his ass...but it's also to delay further. Watch him claim that while he is "cooperating" he's under "orders" by extra-terrestrial executive powers that prevent him from testifying. He'll take it to court and hope to find sympathetic GOOP judges to bottle it up for months and years. His cooperation is to prevent him from being brought up on obstruction charges.

Hopefully we'll start seeing some movement on other fronts...the Siegleman case looks like it will break open as will the fired Prosecutors. Plus through FOIA there is sure to be fodder for a ton of civil suits against many of these goons...who may not see jail time, but may face financial ruin through constant litigation...and IMHO nothing is worse for a repugnican than having no money.

Thanks for the enlightening discussion...

Cheers...
