24. I would rather do what SHE wants:
donate to John's campaign. Let's face it, while flowers do show love and respect, she doesn't need the kind of support that flowers give, she needs the support that donations give. So, if you were going to give flowers and a campaign donation as well, just add the cost of the flower-donation to the campaign donation.

IMHO

When my cousin died recently, the family asked, in the newspaper obit, and personally to everyone who called or came by, for donations to the American Cancer Society or Hospice, IN LIEU of flowers. At the time of the memorial service, we were aghast at the amount of flowers that arrived anyway. The flowers were nice, they were appreciated, but they were thrown away....and we were sure that the money should have been better spent helping others....Gayle would have wanted it that way.
