Whether you are a MoveOn.org member or not, I'd like to ask you to take a moment now to respond to MoveOn's new mini-survey on universal health care approaches.

I am a supporter of California's OneCareNow campaign for SB 840. Single payer is the only proven, affordable way to provide true health security for all, control costs and cut administrative waste.

Please go to MoveOn's survey, and show your support for "single payer." It will take just seconds ->

70%* of Californians want a single payer health insurance system to fix our health care crisis.

Here’s what you can do to make it happen this year!

The OneCareNow Campaign for SB 840 legislation kicked off on August 12, 2006 with an event each day for 365 days, each in a different California city.

This historic grassroots campaign was achieved by Health Care For All—California and coalition partners and supporters like you.

In over 365 cities, we kindled small prairie fires of understanding and enthusiasm for permanent change to our crumbling health care system. Those 365 events in over 365 cities stoked a firestorm of public demand for the only reform that will work for all of us. That reform: a single-payer health care system.

Grassroots pressure for legislative action will bring the change we need and we have a strategy and a plan that could make it happen this year.

A recent “State Strategy Summit” in Los Angeles by coalition partners announced a coordinated Action Plan for 2008.
